Robinia Doorstop

Robinia - noun

"known for its high-quality, the wood of the robinia (Robinia pseudoacacia), also known as "False Acacia" ("acacia wood") and "Black Locust" was nevertheless avoided by carpenters. Due to its extreme hardness and toughness, it is difficult to work and tends to warp . . . After all, robinia wood is sturdier than oak!

Doorstop - noun

"a fixed or heavy object that keeps a door open or stops it from banging against a wall"

So, I had an old saw that was beyond sharpening and it has provided many years of use, not only to me, but to my father before, not something that can just be tossed away as being useless . . .

I also had a heavy block of Robinia wood oh, and a creaky door, so I set my mind to resolving this problem . . .

I still have the saw and the block, though now in a different and more useful form . . .

I no longer have the creaky door . . .

However, as I have several other saws and scrap blocks of differing kinds, I thought that you may wish to have this attractive piece of unique functional art to adorn your home, to hold open a swinging door or to stop that irritating creaky one, so here it is, for sale . . .
